Strawberry Basil Crostini

Strawberry basil crostini.   All you need is love... nope, that's a song not the ingredients to this recipe. You will need a pint of strawberries, a few basil leaves, balsamic vinegar, bread of your choice and either goat cheese or mascarpone with 1 tsp of dried basil and the juice of an orange.

Slice your bread, line them up on a baking sheet to make them warm and toasty 400 degrees for 5-7 minutes or you can leave plain without toasting.

While your bread slices are toasting... wash and cut your strawberries into slices or dices (whichever option you would prefer)
Add 1 TBSP of balsamic vinegar and 1 teaspoon of sugar or honey (optional) and the juice of an orange into your cut strawberries.  Chiffonade (cut thin long strips) your fresh basil leaves and add to your strawberries.

Take your toasted bread out of the oven and slather some goat or mascarpone cheese onto your bread. Then use a large spoon or consider an ice cream scoop and scoop a spoonful of your strawberry basil topping onto each piece of bread and enjoy.

RECIPE:
strawberries (.5-whole point)
1 TBSP balsamic vinegar
1 orange (for juice)
4-6 fresh basil leaves or 1-2 tsp of dried basil (mix in with strawberries)
bread to your liking (toasted or plain)
4-6 oz of mascarpone cheese (add 1 tsp of dried basil into the cheese)
